Alarm Monitoring Services

The State Alarm Management Unit (SAMU) was initially created to take ownership and minimise risk from a state perspective, of all functions related to Alarm Management.

These risks included the alarm monitoring of our community, compliance with Australian Standards, effective use of frontline officers, consistency in relation to alarm billing, ineffective debt recovery and little evidence of decreasing unwanted alarms.

In addition, SAMU was appointed responsibility for managing the changeover of 6200 customer alarm signal devices to a more advanced solution due to the announcement that Telstra were exiting fire line services from the community.

Currently SAMU is based at Woolloongabba and undertakes three different business streams.
