Queensland Fire and Rescue (QFR) crews remain on scene at a commercial structure fire on Old Gympie Road, Burpengary.

Crews were able to bring the fire under control on Wednesday evening, but will continue to monitor any hotspots throughout today. 

Smoke may continue to affect the surrounding area, including the Bruce Highway.

Residents should close windows and doors and keep respiratory medications close by if required.

Motorists should drive with caution and to the conditions.

Burpengary – structure fire as at 7:50pm Wed 11 June 

Queensland Fire and Rescue (QFR) crews are on scene at a commercial structure fire on Old Gympie Road, Burpengary.

Crews were called to the fire at about 6pm and are currently working to contain the blaze.

A large volume of smoke is affecting the surrounding area, including the Bruce Highway.

People in the area are asked not to fly drones over and around the incident as it can interfere with operations.

Residents should close windows and doors and keep respiratory medications close by if required.

Motorists should drive with caution and to the conditions.
