The Permit to Burn map displays QFD issued permits to light fire that have been activated in the last 30 days. An activated permit is one where Firecom has been notified. A fire may or may not have occurred close to this location. Each point is labelled with its permit date.
If you are unsure or concerned about a fire, call Triple Zero (000).
QFD issues permits for individuals and agencies including primary producers, local governments, state government departments such as the Department of Transport and Main Roads, and federal government agencies including the Australian Defence Force. Some burns do not require a permit such as caneland, sawmills, and planned burns (hazard reduction burns) on Queensland National Parks properties.
If you are having issues with the map, you can access the map direct from our map server. During outages of this website, members of the public should refer to their ABC Local Radio station for bushfire information and updates.
Apply for a permit to light fire
