The Rural Fire Service (RFS) Volunteer Charter is an agreement between the State of Queensland, the Queensland Fire and Emergency Service (QFES) and the Rural Fire Brigades Association Queensland (RFBAQ). The Charter ensures that we and the State of Queensland will commit to consultation with volunteers regarding matters which might reasonably be expected to affect volunteers.

The first charter was signed at our very first Volunteer Summit in 2008. We are pleased, that in keeping with tradition, the new 2021 RFS Volunteer Brigades' Charter was signed at the Volunteer Summit on the Sunshine Coast in June.
