Our business and administrative functions are responsible for providing overall strategic leadership, direction and support to the whole of the department, providing high quality services, support and advice to ensure safer communities across Queensland.

There are nearly 50 different roles within business & administration. Each position requires an ability to analyse, prioritise and disseminate information in a timely manner, ensuring frontline staff are safe and successful.

The Selection Process

If you are shortlisted, you will be invited to a formal interview.

4. Referee checks and required assessments

You may be required to complete assessments associated with the recruitment and selection process. For example, aptitude and psychological tests. We may also undertake referee checks.

5. Criminal history, blue card & integrity checks

Appointment to a role will be contingent on the satisfactory outcome of a check of an applicant's recorded criminal history. You will be required to disclose any criminal history and/or charges (including convictions which are not recorded), at time of interview, as per the provisions of the Criminal Law (Rehabilitation of Offenders) Act 1986, section 9A(1).

A criminal conviction or charge will not automatically exclude you from consideration.

All personal information obtained in the application process will be treated confidentially and held securely. Applicants who have lived or worked overseas will also be required to provide a current police clearance.

We take the safety of children extremely seriously and having a workforce of blue card holders demonstrates to our communities that we will always strive to uphold our values and conduct ourselves at the highest standard possible. All staff employed under the Fire and Emergency Services Act 1990 are required to hold a blue card.
