Our Scope Reduction Initiative (SRI) began on 1 January 2015. The SRI has identified a number of types of building work where we will provide a response before an application is made to the Assessment Manager.

Under Section 57 of the Planning Act 2016, we are able to give a referral agency response on matters within our jurisdiction about a development before an application for the development is made to the Assessment Manager.

General information

The particular types of building work that we have provided a response for are:

  • building work involving fire hydrant coverage via a single street hydrant
  • building work involving particular performance solutions
  • building work involving particular fit-outs
  • building work involving particular free-standing shade structures
  • building work where fire hydrant coverage is via a single feed hydrant for a marina.

Note: the "General" information (PDF, 194 KB) sheet must be read in conjunction with the relevant our Referral Agency Response Information Sheets (see below).
