An Emergency Alert (Emergency Warning) has been issued for Cairns from the Cairns Disaster Management Group.

The Cairns Disaster Management Group advises major flooding is occurring NOW in the Cairns area and Barron River catchment areas. Properties will experience flooding. Residents are advised to move to higher ground now if it is safe to do so, or to the upper floors of your building.
