An Emergency Alert (Emergency Warning) has been issued for Hinchinbrook from the Hinchinbrook Disaster Management Group. 

Tropical Cyclone Kirrily has been upgraded to severe category 3. Residents are advised to warn others, stay off the roads and take shelter now.

As a last resort Hinchinbrook Cyclone Shelter will be open at 12 Menzies Street, Ingham. Destructive winds are expected by 6pm and the cyclone shelter will be locked down from then.
