An Emergency Alert for a Severe Thunderstorm Advice message has been issued by the North Burnett, South Burnett, Cherbourg, and Gympie Councils to local residents. 

It advises that there is a very dangerous severe thunderstorm warning current for intense rainfall from Kingaroy to Gayndah, including Proston, Cherbourg, Goomeri, and Kilkivan. 

This rainfall will lead to flash flooding. Do not drive unless necessary. Remember, if it is flooded, forget it. Refer to the Bureau website http://www.bom.gov.au/qld/warnings/ for more information. If your life is in danger, call Triple Zero (000).
