Emergency Alert for Ipswich as at 4.25am Sun 27 Feb

An Emergency Alert has been issued for the Ipswich area.

Ipswich City Council is advising additional areas are expected to be impacted by life-threatening flooding and residents in low-lying areas should prepare to leave and warn others. Wivenhoe Dam releases commenced from 4am Sunday 27 February. Evacuate to family or friends if possible. An evacuation centre has been opened at Ipswich Showgrounds. Do not enter floodwater. In a life-threatening emergency, dial Triple-Zero (000).
