The Gap (Mount Isa) – house fire as at 8:45am Sun 22 Oct

Several Fire and Rescue Service (FRS) and Rural Fire Service (RFS) crews are on scene at a house fire on Spence Street, The Gap (Mount Isa).

The fire is under control but is producing large volumes of smoke which may affect residents in surrounding low-lying areas including Mornington, Menzies, Mount Isa City, Miles End and Soldier’s Hill.

Residents in these areas should close windows and doors and keep respiratory medications close, if required.

Motorists travelling nearby are advised to drive with caution.
