Howard (Fraser Coast) – rubbish fire as at 3.40pm Thurs 30 May

Fire and Rescue Service (FRS) and Rural Fire Service (RFS) crews are on scene at a rubbish fire at an industrial site on Power House Road, Howard. 

Crews have brought the fire under control and there are no threats to property in the area. 

A large amount of smoke is impacting surrounding suburbs including the Howard township and Pacific Haven. 

Burrum Town could also be impacted by smoke later this evening. 

Those affected should keep their windows and doors closed and if required, keep respiratory medications close by.
