Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) can confirm an SES volunteer has died while responding to a call for assistance in Coolana overnight.

Three other SES personnel were rescued from floodwater when the vehicle they were travelling in was swept off the road. The SES unit was assisting a family after flood water threatened to inundate their home.

Forensic Crash Unit officers from Queensland Police Service (QPS) are investigating the incident.

QFES is focussed on supporting the volunteer’s family, friends and colleagues during this difficult time.
