West Gladstone – rubbish fire as at 4:30pm Sun 27 Aug

Fire and Rescue Service (FRS) and Rural Fire Service (RFS) crews are on scene at a mulch and rubbish fire on Blain Drive, West Gladstone.

The fire is under control but is generating a large amount of black smoke which is being blown in a westerly direction, affecting the area near Bensted Road and Red Rover Road in Callemondah.

Firefighters expect to remain on scene for several hours.

Nearby residents should close their windows and doors, and those suffering from a respiratory condition should keep their medications close by.
