We perform an important role as an advice agency for building work assessable against the Building Act 1975.
In the interests of a seamless, transparent Referral Agency Advice process, we have improved the following important forms:
- Request for Meeting
- Request for Comment on Fire Engineering Brief
- Request for Assessment
- Request for Inspection
- Documentation Only submission
The below explains when to use these forms:

Preliminary meetings
A preliminary meeting is to discuss a building approval where the building design is deemed-to-satisfy or unknown, before an ‘Request for Assessment’ has been received by us.
A preliminary meeting can only be allowed on a job where there has been either no other activity or only previous preliminary meeting activity has occurred.
FEB/FER meetings
A FEB/FER meeting is to discuss a performance solution building approval before construction starts on the building.
Minor performance meetings
A minor performance meeting is to discuss a performance solution building approval once an assessment report has been issued and construction has started on the building.
